| was it on before no, did she hit anything no ? the air bag light being on tells me theres a fault in the airbag system. did your shop fuck something up ? who knows its a cheap car, but would they own up to the light coming on after they touched the car ? nope. did they want another hours labor to plug in a code reader and see what was wrong, uh yes. | |

| most places wouldn't own up to it. a tech might have bumped a sensor or accidentially ruined a sensor, OR there could have actually been a fualt in the airbag system from the time they had it. It happens. In my dad's work Titan, he was jsut driving down the highway and the airbag light came on. Soemtimes these things just happen with new vehicles | |

well i dunno what kinda car it is, or who touched it. but it wasn't me. and because the air bag light came one means what to you? was it on before? did she hit something? lol there totally different systems so i don't see how that could happen from an alignment or o2 change, but who knows Just curious, where do you work project_s13? ive been at rochdale auto pro for almost 2 years now. im sure its been said a few times ^ lol ah cool, heard good things about that place.

well glad u bitched at jody.. lol hes stupid. lots of people hate him. but he wasn't wrong. there completely different systems and have absolutly nothing to do with eachother. So you would have got the same thing from any other shop im sure. But most airbag lights happen the moment you flip the ignition and pre-checks system. and airbag system is all sealed. So i'm not sure what happened but i can't see how a system that has nothing to do with suspension aligment or an o2 sensor would come on because either of those were done. Only thing i could see is someone bumped the sensor doing the alignment and may have set a light... but i see that as extrmely unlikly as most impact sensors are well tucked away. I'm sorry jody is a dick. Id a scanned it and told you what it was and if it could have been us. but i doubt it could have been. but i know it wasn't me... cuz id scanned it before it left to see it was me lol. assuming the light was on when i backed it out of course

| ok well.... corey mind if i start this thread over again because this is fuckin ridiculous a thread that was just supposed to be about upcoming mods that were looking forward to turned into a beak show again.
I work in my garage and im proud of it whether other people are or not it feels good to do something yourself, whether it takes me 3x the amount of time or i end up fuckin up and redoing it 5 times doesnt matter to me its the self accomplishment, now on the same note i think theres some good mechanics out there that if i just dont understand something i can take it to them they can fix it and hopefully maybe school me a little on what i did wrong,
project_s13 im sure your a great mechanic and hell if you work on rotaries or any resurfacing and stuff you may be seeing me sometime soon but i think that alot of people like the feeling of doing it themselves and as long as there not bragging about being a awsome mechanic i see nothing wrong in that

| Alright lets get this thread back on topic. At least second Topic. I missed this whole certified thing, I really don't agree with it. Anyone can go to school read some books and past some tests. I would never tell anyone here that they are not capable of watching a movie because they don't have a degree to help them truly understand what it means.
I can honestly say that the people who seem to know the most about my car have no formal training. I have only met a handful of people that have their "ticket" that know anything about my car. That is my two cents.

In all seriousiousness make a Q & A thread for us Jason so if any of us have questions you could possibly help us out? This is not a beak of any sort. I am confused on how to wire a turbocharger unit in. corey you got a mechanic for a brother, im surprised to see this type of ignorance comming from you. I don't deal with little kids who think they know more than they infact do.
and "specialty forums" are just a nother group of people that learn from eachother whether the information they recieve is right or not. Zilvia is a fine example of that. I help people if they ask for it, and always have. but if people get in my face trying to tell me shit I let them discouver it for them selves. Just because I can weld doesn't make me good at.. or even know the first thing about it. I was taugh generally enough to be able to operate and know whats good and whats bad. but i would never dare beak a journeymen welder. I garuntee no matter how good i thought i was He/She'd school me. I'm good and mechanic and specialise in driveline. I will never know it all, thats impossible. But after almost 10 years... i have a right to say i know what im talking about whether you believe me or not. I've known very good technicians and hobbiest's with great knowledge and skills. but skills and knowledge don't come from a book with cars. they can give you theory and thats all. because you read it... doean't make it true. because some guy said something doesn't make it true either. But there is a right way and wrong way to do everything.
If anyone actually wants to learn and not be ingornat and need a helping hand or some advice or knowledge i lend it. But ask or act stupid you'll get the same back. Respect the people that have the knowledge and experince over you. You can try and play plumber or mechanic or what ever, and you may get it fixed... but that only gets you so far before you need someone with the real knowledge and skill to do it Holy fuck whats the weather like up on that high horse? 10 years? You recently went through the 3rd year program, where did you work before the schooling? you must be almost 30? Knowledge defientely comes from books, are you on crack? Why do you think they have service manuals? You are acting like its the hardest trade in the world? It requires 8 months of schooling, 7200hours and a test. They pay is garbage, the work conditions are garbage, and its people like you that ruin it for everyone. Talking like you run the fucking world gets you nowhere and trying to intimidate others with your wealth of knowledge. Why would you even bash people for working on their own vehicles? Lastly STOP WITH THE WHOLE CERTIFIED BULLSHIT. YOU ARE NOT CERTIFIED. Neither am I infact, I write my IP in 7 weeks. You obviously won't have to study since you don't believe in books. Have fun with your 86 cavaliers or whatever you re-engineer over at rochdale auto-pro. We've also seen our fair share of "previously" diagnosed rochdale auto-pro cars. The difference is I don't go blabbing on the internet about how shitty shops are, how guys are hacks, or how I am the best there is the best there was and the best that ever will be. its illegal to remove a safty device from a vehicle. thats includes airbags, ABS, DOT glass, shit like that. if the light comes on. the vehicle is telling you there is something wrong with it and it has disabled the airbags from deploying in any type of collision that would thus requir normal deployment.

| So the ugly monster has reared his ugly head..
Sure you may know all your 240 stuff..and understand on how an engine runs, works, ticks, whatever you have it, doesnt mean that you can be rude to people on here and start bashing people, especially me. I personally helped you at Nissan, at Mitsubishi, hey, all of us helped you, all the guys in the shop. And not one of us beaked you in any way. Where you are now is all in help from us. All those countless hours at the shop training you, tuning you with Nissan vehicles and other vehicles, pumping you full of knowledge and training that most of the guys on here would kill to have an oppurtunity to have at a shop like that. So if I were you, I would rescind that remark about me , Nissan and Mitsubishi.
I dont around bashing you, all the guys on here are car enthusiasts, everyone helps each other out, offer their opinion. If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say it, leave it in that thick skull of yours. I wont bash you Jason, no reason to bring up your past work or just the past. But if you want, just give me the reason to and I'll bring the fire.
Just letting you know that this forum was built to have good people, good opinions, good help and mainly to enjoy everyone's enthusiasm for automobiles.

I bash you because i see lots of hacked shit you've got you hands on. I sent SGI certs your way because i know u'd pass em. but now that SGI is watching you that's not so easy... It pays to be smart and pays to be aware. only reason i came back on here was to figure wtf corey was talking about with his SOHC, in an attempt to clearly call me out. My work, and business don't need words. my work speaks for itself. that's why i build shit at home... thats why people come looking for me to fix it right... thats why i get RHD stuff. so kong, don't bother. I appreciate any chance to learn from someone with skills. whether they have schooling or not. People like you, or guy, or santino, ony give tons of good techs bad wraps because of crap work, or mistaken junk. granted no onse perfect and either am I. but you can only make excuses for so long before customers don't want to deal with you, or never get what they want done right the first time. and same goes for life.
