It's Pin Drive like new Porsche's. This one uses the actual lugnuts as pins, which is pretty much what the Porsche wheel does exactly. But instead of 5 studs, the car has 5 'pins' and the back of the wheel has 5 holes, but then it's held on with the center nut.    Wire wheels use the same idea, but a toothed cog to lock on to the back of the wheel,   As for why, why not? We do anything and everything else, lugnuts are old hat now.  It would be nice to know if the adapters work with real Porsche wheels. OEM 911 Porsche single nut alloys on a new VW GTI would be pretty hot! Her's a MK4 with 911 Turbo wheels, but a MK5/6 GTI would pull it off better, they have more room for big wheels like that.   | |
