I lived through that period, it was fucking terrible then, it's fucking terrible now.

This Civic is everything that was trendy 15 years ago. Bright yellow, green, or orange colour, giant wing, bodykit, tall (17" or bigger) white wheels, even the mod list running up the front fender. This was the Civic to have in 1995. The hatches were not near as popular then, it was the coupe that everybody bought.

ya that's where we differ, im used to riding a trials bike where the bars are ment to be low. Thats why i put a rigid on my street bike.

Also Heretic your comment about the black s2k is totally irrelevant, the yellow civic and cavilier you posted have wings for look purposes. The s2000 i posted incase your blind is on a race track... using the wing for its purpose. I didnt only post it because it's i nice car, but because it's a sick shot.

Fuck me if that S2K needs that wing for purpose!? Forget VTEC, that car is running on hopes and dreams!

so ya ya ok, it's a track car. I'm not sure at what point people started to think you can't possible get around a track in one piece without half a Boeing 747 strapped to your trunk, but whatever.

Actually I don't completely hate them, on some cars it definitely works looks wise. They are just becoming way, way too popular again. For awhile it was just the Dorifto crowd running them (which is obviously a shout out to the D1 series), but now you see them on everything like that green Civic and the Acura I posted.

And I'm not going to say it won't help the right guy.

Heretic maybe if you didnt only look at cars for the aesthetics you would accept the fact of why many cars now have wings. People aren't out street racing as much anymore and are actually taking their cars to the track (for the most part) hence why all these aero additions are now plastered on many cars.

I like BJ's logic though, and even though I fully admit to racing on the street and fucking around in parking lots at times. Every car and motorcycle I own has been raced in an official event at some point. Which means I am putting a huge ass Voltex spoiler on the roof of my Audi wagon for next year, maybe 2 on my Jetta. It's all right I take them to tracks, so I'm legit!

okay stupid question for you guys... What is with the front fenders lately and all being cut away right behind the front wheels on these cars? I noticed it on a few cars at our visit to SEMA but for the life of me still cant really figure out why they are there. haha
