the motor is here:http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000search.cgi?what=page&item=30014 how much do you think it will cost to have it installed? and where in Regina? D.I.Y! Just get an engine lift. It wouldn't be too hard, mostly plug-and-play. Your car should have a k20a3 in it already... literally all you do is drop your engine, drop in the new one, swap the ECU. If you need an engine lift, someone on here has one for sure. Hell, someone on here could even help you do it!

Misc stuff you need. Uhh... Timing belt, alternator belt, water pump, oil filter, fluids... those are all good to have. Oh, and a case of beer for your helper.

| Make sure you budget a lot of time for your swap. I would say the majority of the time you run into problems, or you need parts you didn't realize you needed and shipping takes time. If this is your only car, and you need it to go to work with it and you plan to do your swap in a weekend which is totally doable maybe make arrangements to get a ride to work just in case you can't finish your swap.
Also, spring/summer time gives you a lot of time to do research. It will go much smoother if you have a general idea of what your doing each step of the way, instead of trying to figure things out as you go. The internet is a huge database of knowledge and I'm sure through research you can put together a step by step guide to do your swap.
As luis said you already have a K20 so it should be relatively straightforward. "Engine Swap" Sounds very daunting but if you do lots of research, and move slowly and methodically you can do your swap your self, saving yourself lots of money. Another part of it is the whole pride thing. If you swap your own motor you have the pride of knowing that you did it yourself!
I know lots of people would be willing to help, myself included!

| Why not BOOOOOOOST!!!! I would never spend money on a K20 especially when I can get the same amount of power easily out of an engine worth less than half that. You already have a K20, might as well swap a vtec head(f20c???? ) or just boost it. | |

k20a3 is the weakest k out there. the type r is 6 gears, higher redline, better vtec setup. if you are gonna swap heads, you better get the 6 speed tranny...... i posted a link to a swap guide, that tells you everything that needs to be done. did anyone actually look at it?

FI can really bring down reliability... You called yourself a noob, so stay away from turbos... there is a lot involved with them. You have the money for the K20a, so do it. Simple, straight-forward swap. Read the link I posted on the first page... very informative.
