|  Subject: Engine noise  September 26th 2009, 12:32 pm | |
| Just recently while driving i could hear a little bit of ticking coming from underneath the hood. At first i thought it was my timing belt because its something ive needed to get fixed, but i started driving it today and the noise got a lot worse. It sounds like something is knocking from underneath the hood and it just shakes the car. If i keep accelerating or push on the brakes theres no noise but if im just rolling the noise kicks in. Does anybody know what could cause this? i drive a 1990 civic hatchback | |

| All your lugnuts tight? sounds similar to a problem I had months ago lol, turned out to be loose wheel | |

| axle ! that what my car was doin it would shake under acceleration and braking thats it and make a terrable sound | |

He said it doesn't shake under acceleration or braking though. | |

He said it doesn't shake under acceleration or braking though. opps read it wrong i thought he said other way around | |

bad CV joint. They are the first thing to go in these cars... axles are soooo weak for some reason. | |

bad CV joint.

yeah it turns out it was just loose lugnuts. all 4 lugnuts were so loose i could turn them with my fingers, but since it was so loud it sounded like it was coming from underneath the hood. thanks for all the help guys  | |
