fucking piece of shit stereo

ok, well ive had this problem with my car ever since i bought it. Ive had two different decks in it and both do the same thing. What happens is if i turn the volume up decently high the deck just suddenly shuts off completely and after a second or two turn back on again.. It happens less when the car is running, but if its not it happens frequently and at lower volumes.

Any ideas?

ive heard of subs or amps doing that before.

just go thru the basic checks, ground, good connections etc.

I had that same problem with my old jeep, I ended up re wiring it and didn't have any problems after that. So like Adrian said most defiantly check the wiring, doesn't sound like its a faulty deck if its been the same for both.

added another ground and ran another power wire straight to the battery. Problem solved.

yeah i was gonna say that sounds like your ground, glad you got it fixed!

yeah only took a year and a half to get motivated enough to fix it
