Hot Rod Hi-Jinx 2011

Hi guys, This is for anyone who is interested in going to Hi-Jinx this year hosted by the North Side Street Rods.

If you have any questions either post them here or message me and I'll see if i can answer it.

This year will be held in the same area just in the parking lot and not on the grass due to the grass area being fairly wet haha.



Hope to see some of you guys out there.

Also if you are going out there, going through Fort Qu'Appelle will be the better rout then take the lake front road, the other road (the 210) that lead right to the car show from highway 10 is not in the greatest of shapes so taking the 10 into town then going left on Broadway Street will take you along the lake front and then to the park.

Scott, well i doubt my car will be in the show as it wont be ready (she got hail damage and isn't car show worthy, plus what happened before too )

Count me in man just let me know when and where to meet ya... if possible and my car is running I will take my Silvia out there idc lol if not I will just cruise out with Jessica and her car as my SIR is no where near worth of any type of show except maybe best 4x4 winter tire vehicle in the parking lot

I'd like to go to this show, but ahhhhhh, you know. Actually driving my car out of the city is a pretty risky proposition at the best of times. VW's like to break down the second you are nowhere near home.

It depends on if you are going to do the poker run or not, if you are doing the poker run, be at the camp site before 11am, if not just meet up somewhere and cruise out for 2:00pm in the parking lot of echo valley beach since the grass is/was flooded out and is soft. lol

I bought you some VW emblems off ebay to increase your chance of putting a Honda Civic in a euro show. Should be here by next monday

A "Poker Run" is a competition of sorts where you drive from check point to check point building your poker hand. At the start (camp site) you get your first card and a list of directions of where to go, you also get to roll a set of dice and if you roll (i don't remember what it was i think a 7 or something like that) and if you get that you get a prize, this happens at every stop. also at every stop you get another card. The end of the poker run is the car show. Once you get there you pay your entrance fee of $5 and get your last card. once you have that you hand in the directions with the card you got. When the awards are given away they also give away a prize for who had the best "poker hand".

Make sure you have a full tank of gas though, as its isn't a short trip. The purpose of the poker run is to go for a nice cruise (it isn't a race so no need to be a speeding around), see some cool areas you wouldn't normally go, and win some prizes. Mainly for a good time then at then end you are at the car show.

touche! but is the show only open to European made cars or can "styled" count too.

European styled honda?

VW enthusiasts started the whole "rust your hood/panels" thing(i know rat rods were around before but from what I know the cars weren't intentionally rusted-maybe im wrong-. Also the old school rims and EDM fog light are IMO "european styled".

I think VW guys might have been some of the first to use low offset/rwd wheels on a FWD car. Basically taking wheels that would be wide for a BMW E21/E30 and putting them on Rabbits and Golfs. But nowadays it's all just "mad tight Hellaflush yo!
