2011 cruise weekend?

I personally had a blast going last year, but unfortunately never made the actualy convoy up with everyone.
Now, I know there isnt going to be any fun drift promo going on this year, but is anyone planning on making the trip up there to do some cruising and go to the car show on sunday?

Yep but when is the date?

if your talking about the last weekend in august i will be up there all weekend for other stuff but I plan on coming out at night to check things out

Show and Shine is a Classic Car show which includes classic cars & trucks. To participate your car must be 20 years or older and in showmanship condition in order to be accepted."

I'll be going this year for sure.

what about if my car is styled to look like it is atleast 20 years, ie: rusted panels.

does that count?

on a serious note, the show downtown was great last year with every sort of car being there, and all the cars on the street aswell.

anyone interested in going up together?

on a side note, there is supposedly a pretty big subaru meet going on at the same time in saskatoon.

Is that the same weekend as DMCC round 4?

round 3 is the weekend before, round 4 is in BC in september.

20 years seriously? so like a 1992 is a Classic now? I can't believe that in 4 more years I can get Antique plates for my car.


P.S. I hear the cops come out in droves to patrol 8th for this. Anything remotely illegal in way of mods, and you get ticketed.

just curious as to what you are doing with your car soon/this year/ever? taking it out to autox? or sir? albert st?

for now, all I can afford is albert st, and that is where it lives when its not in the garage.

autox is fun for a bit, and id like to get back into it next year if I can get something to prevent my front from rubbing on my inner fenders, but lets face it, a RWD and N/A car would be far better suited for that sort of environment. If I still have it in a few years when life settles down, I will be getting back into the driver schools and track days I used to do at Race City and other tracks. Its better suited to bigger, smoother tracks.
Before I sell it, Ive got to make atleast one pass at SIR with it, just to have a time slip saying I did, but there is no way I would have had time to do it this year.
Long story short, enjoy it until someone buys it from me I guess, then go 4x4.

dont you lie to me. if i remember correctly, i dont think your bmw was killing it out there.

but you should def make a pass at sir before you sell it. possibly make time to get out there with your busy life. maybe you can cut back on being a keyboard warrior then youd have time to make it out there? i dont know just trying to throw ideas out to you.

no, youre definately right, it just barely kept up with the rb20 skylines when it was a 4 cyl with all seasons on it.


with about 20 hours of OT a week, its hard to cut back when youre in a field where there is always a demand. when does SIR start up in the spring time? thats usually my slow time.

Im going to SIR september 18th and/or 25th. Both are sunday street legals. Do you work sundays??

May 1st is usually the season opener street legal.

I work 10-12 hour days depending on the season, and on-call rotations on top of that. Saturday mornings are usually spent helping build the habitat for humanity houses on the hood. Sundays are usually free as long as Im not on call.
