Oh surprise surprise. I get to do this now too. Which sucks, becuase my hand brake is rusted since It started getting sticky 2 years ago and I stopped using it. But I'm guessing this will be anything but fun. The guy on the phone said it might need the stock suspension to pass. Which is wonderful, because then I get to pay for 2 alignments. One after putting the stock shit from my parts car in, then one again from lowering it again.

| I just remembered last time I was under it it has a ripped driver side CV boot...I might as well order that shit up now. *sigh* I bet you this won't go done for under $500. Thing only good thing is other then the $100 it costs for a inspection, any parts I replace are new parts for my car that it "needed'. Which is better then handing over a $280 ticket I suppose...... | |

| Yaa ok the lighting issue is purely my fault, so hahaha Jokes on me.
Butl it is 25 years old. All the parts are in various stages of wearing out. A ripped CV boot and crusty e-brake are kind of par for the course.
In my particular case the hand brake is a losing battle, I've already changed calipers and cables once this decade, they are just a shitty design, As soon as they see water they start getting rusty and start sticking on, so I just stopped using it altogether.
Windshield is new this year, brake pads last year, tires this year, exhaust is 2 resonator 1 muffler, but louder then stock...fail or not I don't know? And actually both CV shafts were brand new in 2009 when I rebuilt the engine, but one exploded (I think it was a defect but I bought online so meh) and I tossed the old one back in since it was still pretty good but now the boot is ripped. Interior is 100% stock, seats, seat belts, etc.
If I have to unlower it, I'll do that, pass the inspection, then it's going up for sale with the enkei's on it. Time to move on.

| LOL I don't mind fixing anything wrong with it, but with the earliest opening for the inspection is Wednesday, and then any parts I need will take at least 4-5 days to get here from ordering them. Not counting time I need to wrench on it. Basically there is no way I will make the 11 days he gave me to get it all done. (At which point is my insurance null and void?)
It sucks because I'm in the middle of tearing out my kitchens sunshine ceiling ( yaaa learning all about recessed lighting) and I wanted to go get the MG from the farm.

maybe you havent been in that situation but its not a fun one knowing you need to spend all YOUR OWN money to fix your car for the cops naa i've been in that exact situation, just not for yellow headlights. My civic came with those gay aftermarket HID's and i got pulled over for having one burnt out. i had to fix it and take it to the cop shop to show them i did.
