| Partial Re-wire on the ECU wiring, Replace O2 sensor, Machined & Pinned new crankshaft gear and re-installed T-Belt. VW just called and said my new crank bolt is in. I'm going to grab a new serp and power steering belt on my way home, so I should be up and running tonight! Really hoping this fixes the low power, and general poor running issues I've had all summer.

| Went for a test drive, and drove it to work today! Starts and runs way WAY better. Seems out of breath at 5200rpm, but that's actually typical for these engines. And I suspect since the cam has been retarded for so long, its probably more a case of having much more mid rpm power then before and now it seems flat up top, where as with a retarded camshaft, it only felt good screaming the engine out. She pulled lovely up to 210km/h last night (on a closed private track of course ) No stuttering, no bucking at part throttle, no stinky rich idle, no holed pistons, and holding a terrific steady 18hg of vacuum at idle (before it was 10 to 0hg and choppy and loaded with fuel) I can't wait to put some Nitrous through it this weekend. The good news to all this crank gear nonsense, was it made me suspect wiring issue. And it turns out I had the car wired wrong since the Supercharged engine went in. There is one wire on the ECU to receive power only when the starter is cranking telling it to add extra fuel when starting. I had it wired to +12v switched, so it always added fuel at idle. Now I have it on the starter relay, so it cleared up the idle nicely. Tires are still rubbing, but only when you are driving way too fast. At the speed limit the rarely touch the flares, and the fronts are rubbing at full lock so U-turns are a now a 3 and 4 point deal. Needs - Stiffer springs (especially rear), front fenders worked more, a big dirty race cam, and a ported cylinder head...
