New Deck Opinion

I'm looking for a new deck I really like Alpine been looking at the cda-9886 but now found a JVC deck KD-AVX11 about the same price. I've never had a JVC deck so if anybody can comment on those two or the brands at that, that would be great.

yea i have it. Prefer alpine over jvc myself.. Had a jvc 2 years ago, what an exensive piece of shit. But maybe i just had a bad one?

9886 if you love cd's and like your ipod. x100 if you LOVE your ipod but dont own any cd's. I have the idax100 and am in love with it.

The highspeed ipod connection is the best thing evar. Money well spent forsure, i havent burnt a cd in 6 months

Well I haven't played a CD in a car in about 2 years. Does it come with the ipod cable in the box? Currently my ipod is hooked up to my stock deck and well the sound sucks. Been about 5 months of dealing with it so time to change.Well it looks like Bestbuy is out of stock guess I'll check out Visions or stay suffering even longer with the stock deck.

those alpine decks are shit my buddy has one and hates it

I guess it's preference but Alpine has been nothing but good to everyone I know.

dont get me wrong i think alpine make some of the best just that one sucks you cant take the face plate off and they have low volt preouts

The 9886 and 9887 both have 4v pre outs, which really aren't that low.

If you are going to spend the money get the 9887, much better features and looks sweet too. I can get them for 292 plus tax.
Only stupid thing is that the 9887 doesn't come with the ipod cable, so add another 40 onto it and 322 plus tax.

He was talking about my deck the iadx100. has 2v preouts. Which to me isn't really a big deal because I'm not a big car audio buff. I agree though, only removing half the face plate kinda sucks, but for how easy it is to use and navigate I love it. 0 problems with it so far.

I didn't buy either, still stock deck works fine have the aux input on it for my ipod so no biggie car needs to go faster before it sounds good.

Do you know if your deck charges the new ipod nano? My pioneer doesn't and the 9886 doesn't either. And how do you like your deck, other than it can't play CD's.
I might be wanting to get a new one but I want one that will charge my ipod or I'm just gonna keep the one I have.
It charged my other 2 generation ones but not this one. Probably because they are too new and the decks need the software.

Yup it does. I have a nano and it charges it just fine. I love the deck. Hands down the best one I've ever used.

Oh nice, so it charges the new chromatic ones or whatever they are called, the ones that JUST came out

should be compatible as long as Apple didn't change anything

thats what I thought too, but every deck I plug my new nano into won't charge it plays the songs and all but won't charge

Hmm run down to visions with your nano and ask one of the guys to hook it up I am pretty sure this deck will charge it.

Yeah I finally tried it on the newer pioneer ones and it charges it, so I'm gonna grab one of them soon.

well since your not a fan of pioneer what you think about this double din. Seen it in a car like mine and looked perfect like it belonged there.
