| I am just wondering what the crowd thinks about them, I personally think they are nice cars, and very speedy, but I wanna hear some opinions and maybe some pro's and con's of what people think. | |

| i'll throw my 2 cents in. Great cars lots of power and for a car of its size handles and brakes well. bad side is engine bay is tight as shit and you better have Very good mechanical knowledge or very very deep pockets when you need to do work. | |

Just out of curiosity, what track do you plan on taking it to? Three Flags or SIR?

Why wouldn't you consider it to be a sports car? :O I agree with this actually, a Japanese sports car...generally does 3 things well. 1. Look good and is fairly aerodynamic. 2. Handles well around a corner. 3. Capable of going fast in a straight line. The 300ZX manages one and a half of these things in stock form. It looks pretty good and is fairly aerodynamic, and it....is too heavy to fully count for going fast in a straight line. It's more a midlife crisis car than anything.

What if I said I wanted it because I liked the looks and it would suit me as a DD? Like, I wouldn't really put a bunch of money into it for tuning it out unless I really wanted to take it to the next level, but for now and for a few years to come I just want it to last.

| I was told that I would be looking at about 750$ per year for fixes and repairs, just to look ahead and what not, It's rhd and its imported, wont that also pose a bitch of a time to find a mechanic to fix it? Let alone the parts or?
Thats what the guy said anyways, he said that not many mechanics know much about RHD's, not that I am agreeing, because I have no idea whether that is true or not, but if it is, I might have to consider it. The parts on the other hand is pretty much common sense about them being a bitch price and what not.

No offense, but if this is the case, why are you asking for opinions? If it's something you like and want, go with it. I went out and essentially bought a car that could be a lawn mower if you strapped blades underneath it, and I love it. The biggest bitch will be getting it to pass Saskatchewan safety. It's not hard to find people who will work on them, but people who work on them don't work for free.

| Corey's Hostility aside. I agree with Adrian and Thai... If I 9000 I wouldn't even consider a 300ZX and that is saying a lot a I fancy myself a nissan fan. For that much you could almost buy Jordan's car and that would be way better. I personally would be looking at an Aristo. You could easily get a soarer for that price as well. This is of course S chassis aside, if you still like the S chassis you could get a S13 or S14, or you could even try to find a Skyline (R32 for sure or maybe even an R33). All of the cars I have listed would be a better choice then a 300ZX. | |

Hmm. Well in order to get a soarer or an aristo i would have to import, and I am not looking to do that. The S13/S14 on the other hand is nice, but the 300 is much faster? skylines... GT-R i have heard are the only good ones...

GT-R i have heard are the only good ones... I think you need to take a big step back. Buy yourself a beater for the winter and do lots of research on many forums. Then decide in the spring if this is still the car that appeals to you most. If it is, go for it. I personally think these cars are beautiful, and I wanted one too. But after I spent some time pricing out stuff, and learned a bit about the car, I would now never go near one. Just put in the time to do the research and then you can answer all the questions you're asking us.
