- im really sick of people posting pictures of awd cars that have wheel gap and saying its functional, depending on type of sport its doing, yes it might be functional. But come on...
EX. The 2010 scion racing time attack car has 1300hp, AWD, wins everything, and is slammed. I will post a pic when i get home. Now obviously this car is completely set up to work while being that low. But seriously, no one on this site is doing any sort of sport event where having wheel gap or not having wheel gap is going to win you the big prize. so get over it
So stop thinking that having wheel gap is going to make a come back and stuff it to hella flush or something.
(ps. some cars i like with wheel gap like trucks or big tired, raised evos and shit, so don't get your panties in a knot, but i had to say it cause this site is pissing me off lately) Meh I like em tucked, Hella Frushed out (well to a point, some of those VIP cars are way too cambered), or just nicely down 1-1.5" from stock. But from a guy coming from a motorsport background I'm not sure how you can even come off with that post. Low only does one thing for you function wise (says the guy with the oil pan eating VW), lowers your CG/Roll point. The trade offs many though, your car is not designed to be that low, so you have effectively eliminated a lot of the available travel. Now you need overly high spring rates to stop the car from bottoming out, on anything but glass smooth pavement this means that any larger bumps will distrupt the chassis more, and upset the car more. (I know all you living in Regina that have hit a bump in your dumped car, have had the car at least try to change lanes on you) You've also changed the driveshaft angles, the ball joint angles and a lot of stuff past it's designed working angles. The creats extra stress on them, and make it harder for them to work. Driveshafts when at extreme angles take more energey to spin. (Put 2 universals joints on the end of a 10" 3/8 ratchet extension and hold it by the ends and spin it, then cock it up 30 degrees and spin it, and see how well it transmits energy for you) Then as an added bonus, you can't fit wide rubber with out hacking the fenders apart, or stretching rubber. But you take most any car and slightly lower them, you can dramatically improve handling, and still fit proper wide rubber. You can get the driveshafts and control arms near parallel to the ground which improves function & eliminates parastic loss, you can increase the spring rate enough to control more body roll then stock springs, but still supple enough to suck up jagged bumps without distrubting the chassis. But still I have to admit even knowing, and experiencing myself that a slightly lowered car is better 99% of the time, I still personally prefer they way look all the way dumped.

| I'm not anti-slam, I'm all for drop that shit. I'm not going to pretend that it makes the car handle better, but I love the look. Even subtle camber looks the tits!
But that massive camber is another thing, something is wrong with those guys. Probably not breast fed enough as babies or something.

There was actually a really good interview with Mark Arcenal on speedhunters a few months back. He talked about people taking the extreme camber too far. I mean he is the guy behind the Hellaflush site, so he is pretty insightful. I think the extreme negative camber will die off. but as far as Flush or Hellaflush, it probably isn't going anywhere. Unless, wheel gap starts to look good? Also of course you are all for slammed you wouldn't be a real VW enthusiast if you weren't.
