I'm looking at this at every perspective i can ryan. i too am a customer and in no ways do i catch any breaks with the track...... as i said previous the profit is created through the concession and passes issued. grinding or not during dirt drops, is not an excuse either.... you also got to remember from last year before all this was brought up you cant exactly say that you guys cleaned up/"burried" the corners you guys gouged up....... from what i can tell though ryan is taking guys out there tonight to clean it up, and all the better for him and the guys that go out to keep drifting around for the rest of you....

Razz

I honestly believe the track is using the drifters as a scape goat to be able to fix their track. I know for a fact from after this weekend there is a huge interest in sask drifting and those who try and take advance of us now will pay for it in the future.

period.

They make money off of pit passes? We were told they were to cover insurance. As for concession there would be nobody to buy it if organizations did not supply the clients. There are more costs involved in running an event as I am sure any qcma member can vouch for. There are large association fees as well as track rental fees that are paid directly to the track.

Again, the drifters clean the track. You are also right that it should be simple enough to repair as the dirt is only being displaced and not taken from the track. However qcma was gracious enough to buy a large sum of supplies to repair the track and have people go out to repair it.

I will admit that I don t have all the answers. But iam curious as to what we pay for when we rent the track? So yes damage may have been caused but a hefty sum of money was paid for the use of the track so where does that go?

Believe it or not sask drifting is now a part of the canadian drift scene. Although it is nice to have the track it is not pivitol. Every person in the sask drifting community is as important as the next and no one group keeps it around for another. Rather we all work hard to keep it around for each other.

(Once again this is Ryan using daves account)

cypress is trying to make a point but its far too bias'd and misinformed to be looked at realistically. thats how its being viewed just so you know. and as for keeping wheels on the track solving everything, in a perfect world yes. but its a kart track and some people drive large sedans sideways accross the track, so thats hard! staying off the gas off track is a definate must tho.

jesse how do you think im being biased..... I'm just as everyone else sure florence is extended family but i still pay the same as the next person. 10.50 for a pit pass and 20.00 (QCMA member) at autox. what i know is that florence has meantioned to me before about how the drifting is tearing up the track......

to Jon on his smart ass comment, never dragged my kit while braking......now go finish your build and enjoy your car. affraid

I say leave the track for Karts, Bikes and your basic AutoX. Drifting should be done in a parking lot when you can damage a track when you don't have a full size track to use properly. Hell even find a way to do AutoX in a parking lot. Like they have said its a family run track and its there passion and its them giving us the privilege to use the track, it is not a right, but a privilege.

Im going to assume you have a new venue (parking lot) arranged for drifting and autocross then?

Let's put it this way. If there was another venue in town that was available. We would be using it.

End of story.

Evraz is no go apparantly. They teased us earlier but have since changed their mind I guess.

No clue. Ask the guys from the QCMA that have been trying to find alternate venues ever since they got booted from the Southland mall 9 years ago.

I am sure several possible venues will be explored in the near future.

The only issue these days is no one wants to get sued.
