my buddie just bought one i havent rode in it yet he lives in alberta. but i kinda like them .

yeah his is a v6 like 330hp i think and there is a 4 cylinder turbo

come in a 2.0L turbo'd - 210hp and a 3.8L V6 - 306hp...wow!

Whats not to like? 2.0T or a V6, rear-wheel drive and cheap, this car is like a new 240sx. Once you can get past the badge you'll realize the potential this car has.

Hyundai. that is what is wrong with it. I will continue to think that way until I take a ride in one.
I bet I will be blown away, and most other people will be too.
But look at mustangs, they have alot of power, and power can be made very easily in them, and you can get 5.0L for cheap now, but they still get no lovin, its just all in people's minds.

On a side note, lets all comment on how ugly the new 370Z is..

With the amount of torque the V6 model chucks out, accelerating shouldn't be a problem...

I'm not a fan of this car, being perfectly honest, after getting a close look at how it's designed, I just don't enjoy how it looks and presents itself, but, that's just me.

i used to think this was going to be a good new rwd platform to work with

yes, becasue when I hear a car STARTS at $37,000, in my mind, that instantly means they are cheap, or should I say, "inexpensive"? You can pick up a used 350z for 18,000, and you get a car is almost the same, and doesn't look like garbage, and is still a nice car to live with everyday of the week.
New, does not instantly mean better.

And just becasue a car RWD and cheap, does not mean it is the next s-chassis.

Genesis Coupe(v6) is one of the best new cars I have ever drove and I realized why someone would want to buy a brand new car after getting out of the driver seat.

Top of the line track genesis. 37,300 before taxes as per hyundai of regina.
Top of the line sport package 370z, 45,498 as per nissan.ca

I don't think many people on here fail to realize that new cars weigh more. People go ape shit when they hear a lotus elise weights something like 2600lbs or something. Lots of cars in the 80/early90's wieghed that much.
Like you said, almost every car has a fancy stereo, airbags, massive amountsof comuters and technologies, AND bigger engines. And they still get better gas milage and performance than cars did back then. Although what they gained in some things, most would agree they lost other things.
Anyways, its still a hyundai, and people will continue to see it that way unfortunately.
Lets face it, they don't make commercials going,
"Why, what a beautiful new hyundai you've got there (insert name here)"
"Beautiful yes, but new it is not sir"
"Right, and you'll be getting the master sweet tonight (insert name here)"
Then they roll to a picure of the hyundai owner sleeping on a cot in the basement.

It just doesn't happen like that, beacsue unfrotunately there is that stimulus out there that its some lowly korean car.
Hell, even Suzuki is one of the worlds ton ten car makers, and they still get very little respect.
I'm sure it is an amazing car and whatnot though, this has provoked me to go tothe library and read moer about it.

All I can say to that is to drive one. They have come a long way and while they are not up to part with honda or toyota, the cars can hold their own. Owners love them so really thats all thats important. Most of the nay sayers cannot afford one or are not in the market for that particular car anyways.

that is propably the reason I do not like them. I cannot justify paying that much for a vehicle.
On paper, they seem to have all the right stuff.

Corey, when the hell have you driven a Genesis Coupe? I will say from first hand experience that it is a fun car to drive and those Brembo brakes are awesome.
