2010 Subaru RWD Coupe!

t's the most stylish Subaru ever! And this striking Impreza coupé will go into production in 2010.

Joining the recently launched hatch-back model, it will allow the Japanese company to tackle the BMW 3-Series Coupé and Nissan 370Z head-on, as well as reach out to new customers.

The car has been developed as part of a joint venture with Subaru owner Toyota – the project will also spawn a long-awaited successor to the Nineties Celica. The Impreza coupé takes styling cues from the five-door model, but gets a rakish rear end. That gives it a chunky yet athletic appearance which stands out from the crowd.

Power will come from a choice of two engines, both employing the flat-four boxer layout for which Subaru is famous. There’s a normally aspirated 2.0-litre unit giving around 180bhp, or a high-performance 2.5-litre turbo powerplant borrowed from the range-topping five-door STi which will deliver in the region of 370bhp.

Cool car although the RWD throws me off since subaru is pretty much known for Rally, Boxer Engine, and AWD just wouldnt be the same

I might like a taste of that.

Hey man, 180hp, 260tq stock, 45-55 front-back weight distribution all sounds pretty nice.

But it wouldn't hurt to make the 2.0T petrol engine outta the gti available.

I have been watching too much Top Gear. Although, VW should hire you I like your train of thought.

That's actually a really old rendering of what was supposed to be the new STi, don't get your hopes up.

Neat looking but don't like the side or back look that much. Hoping it's a rough sketch so far.

i dont want this to turn into a giant fight or go off topic but im just a diesel fan and they have a lot off unlocked power and stupid torque guess its just when you drive a moded diesel there's nothing else like it

I was being serious. To each their own, I am not diesel fan. Not that I am trying to pick on you but that civic was on the Top Gear that I was watching tonight, and turns out it is not as good as the previous generation civic. I guess it is heavier and only has a 1 hp improvement. They said they were looking for this car to be the Godfather part II but instead they got police academy 7. That is a complement to last gen civic especially if it is being compared to the Godfather.

It was the Type R that they tested, they raced the two and the older gen won. The one you posted does however have a pretty decent design.

Like I said too much Top Gear for me... and now we are back on topic.

the type r integras have the same trend dc2's are beter than the dc5's its wierd and its too bad your not a diesel fan your missing out

I think that Civic is nasty who puts a wing over the rear window so you can't see.

that thing actually looks... good. It is the only new subaru that actually appeals to me. I like it
