Ok, so recently I sent my video camera out for repair... and I wanted something to film with at DMCC. So I picked up a the Nikon D5000. Turns out my camera is back from repair so I can use that..... I am torn between using the video camera or the DSLR.
What are some thoughts on which would produce better results.

I need alot of car parts moved along with a trailor w/ a car on it.
should i use my saturn ion with my hitch on the back, or my pickup truck with complete towing package.

Plus the Vid Cam works nicely with your mount for Tandem Battle action.

Well DSLR are nice because you can change the lens and I believe the sensor is a bit bigger. Audio is not as good but we rarely use that audio. I guess my big concern is picture quality. I am just not sure if the difference in quality is worth the change or if it is even noticeable.
I know they used a DSLR for Hardcore logo 2 but I don't know if that is a good indication of anything.

I've seen some amazing stuff come out of dslr's and the quality is unreal. In fact, they recorded the season finale of House on a 5dmkii, can't wait to get mine

For the price DSLR > Video camera because as you said you can change lens to achieve many different effects, super shallow DOF, long range zooms. To get the quality out of a video camera that you can a DSLR you would have to spend atleast double.

More vids! Stumbled on these taken by locals. DLSR's can definitely hold it down
