linux is a downgrade. not an up grade. its rarely refered to as an operating system... really..
I agree. with you. Down grade to linux. and have real fun. not true. many advanced pc users use linux because of its simplicity. and lack of viruses. also it runs fewer processes leaving more memory, and less processor usage. also its becoming more than just a command line operating system, with systems like Ubuntu which offer a nice simple GUI. and as far as the mac vs. pc. it all depends on what you want. a pc you can upgrade hardware, and software (including Windows) where as a mac you cant upgrade anything, even the operating system. mac also is way less prone to getting viruses since they don't use executable files. for everyday use i would just go with a desktop or laptop pc, simply because you already know how to use it comfortably... im guessing.. | |

| depends on what you want, if you want something stylish, go for a Mac, IMO, that's the best part about them. Personally, I'm a PC guy, have had my Lenovo T60 for 2 years and its great, as long as you have good virus software, you are ok. A good free one is Avast, the personal edition, works great, and I haven't had many, if any virus issues. Just keep it up to date and registered, and use some common sense when doing things on your PC , ie: don't open unknown attachments, be careful of what you download, and don't be going to crazy unknown porn sites Not knocking Mac's, but the few people I know who have gone down the Mac road have regretted it and have gone back to PC. Again, just what I've observed. They each have their own pros and cons and opinions do greatly differ on this subject. | |
