| I thought this would be a good idea kind of a heads up for fellow members around here. Basically post with the name of a business and whether they had quality workmanship and you were very content with how they went about their business or if you are upset with the outcome and would steer clear. (local or non local lets hear it)
Please give a detailed review of why or why not you would recommend them and only review a business if you have had a first hand experience with them. Also to make it as easy to read as possible Bold the business name followed by your review.
I'll start:
Bumper Clinic
Had my first Jeep Cherokee painted there(driver side front door, driver side rear door, passenger side front door, rocker panels). The vehicle was said to be in the shop for a maximum of 3 days which turned into just shy of 4 weeks, very poor communication hard to get a hold of and could never give me a straight up answer and just kept stalling. They managed to break a door handle in the process then try saying it was always broken. Painters tape was still left on parts of the door(very poor presentation). 3/4 of a tank of gas was gone and the interior was left a complete mess. To put the cherry on the cake I was driving by this place which is just off Sask drive near the driver examination building, I watched as the painter set up a rack outside and brought a wet bumper out to let it dry outside.
Professional Auto body
Replaced tabs on top of strut towers on 240, and "repaired" the rust on the strut towers. The welds look like they were done by a 5 year old and just very poor quality. I'm unsure of their quality when it comes to a paint job but I most defiantly wont be going back.
Minute Muffler(Vic East)
Dealt with them twice so far and have been happy with not only the workmanship but how they treat you as a customer. Very qualified staff and willing to work with you to make you as happy as possible. VERY reasonable pricing, will take all my business to them when it comes to exhaust systems.
Western Auto body
Only got small part of a bumper painted at Western Auto body(got backed into at school parking lot). Anne was very helpful they got it in and out in a flash and it looked great. Two days after the part that was painted got scratched in extra foods parking lot by a shopping car... I phoned back to see if I could get some touch up paint and Anne got some mixed up and gave it to me for free and even got it touched up by a painter. Great place to deal through, was costly but you get what you pay for.

| Corey from Hyundai:Thankfully I've only had to deal with him on a few occasions. I had my vehicle cleaned a couple times and I was very dissatisfied with the work He is loud, obnoxious and just plain slow at what he does. He makes weird noises throughout various stages of the day, and even chases around other boys with wet rags claiming its not gay. All in all I am worried about him but I figure its probably just a phase... Would not recommend for anything involving anything. | |

He had a bee on his toush and a wet rag was the only way to swat it away. I swear! Ha, that gave me a good laugh. See you tomorrow

long story short. bill was tripled in price car was dropped off at my house in -40 weather while I was out of town with no windows or doors. painted 8 different colours of leftover paint. and was told we needed the space and we can sand off the different colours of paint in the spring when we go to paint it. and what started out as 1000 cash was close to 3000 for a unpainted car.

| Kal-Tire on McDonald: Scratched all 4 of my rims when they tried to mount the tires, managed to dent 2. Opened my hood, every door, and the trunk(for god knows what?), proceeded to let my hood drop from its top resting postiion(the hood opens in reverse), resulting in a dent. I had 4 BBS chrome valve covers that they couldn't figure out how to remove, so they cracked and broke every single one(they were $7.75 american each buds). They didn't torque my wheels down, the kid who drove my car onto the ramp hit my front lip on the ramp and slipped the fuck out of my new clutch. When I had my car there to get it saftied, they failed it becasue there was a hole in the floor mat(yes the REMOVABLE floor mat). Shawn, the manager, is always very friendly though, and has great customer service. He made sure my rims were fixed, but didn't do anything about the other stuff. When my dad took my mom's BMW station wagon there to get saftied after it came off the boat from Muinc, the guy who did the saftey managed to scratch the front driver's fender and the 2 rear doors. He tried to say they were like that.
Minute Muffler East: Best place in the world. Make you feel good, GREAT worksmanship, and if you want to be, they let you be involved in the process. If my cars need a muffler/exhaust made, I take it there without hesitation. A+
Precision Motors: Great place, always knowldgeable. I buy most of my parts there. He's always working on the exotic cars(lambos, porsches, ect.) So if you have a european car, get stuff there.

| wheaton autobody:the worst experience ive ever had. did such a poor job on fixing my car that after taking it back 5 times, sgi didnt pay them for their work and allowed me to take it elsewhere. not only did the manager lie to my dad (who's a mechanic) and told him that they had done a wheel alignment, he also told a friend of mine that worked there that he refused to try for me anymore and would just leave whenever i came in. another friend had a car in there and they backed it into something, gave it back to him, and said "we'll put a new bumper on in a month, thats the closest date we can have it in" on their own fuckup. just terrible. | |

| Wheaton: Monte carlo got hit in 06 and fixed it up nicely. Whole new door and front fender. Matched paint good, just didn't clean up my car, spare parts and crap in there when I got it back.
Queen City Auto Body: Chad did a real nice job on my monte carlo in 07when I had an accident in winter and when all my windows got smashed out from vandalism. I got a whole new front clip, new windshield, front windows and back window, tailights, headlights, new paint on doors. Really good business.
Minute Muffler East: Very good, cut off some dynamax mufflers at bucks and got them put on my monte carlo. Very good business.

Got them to do some work on my car and they did a great job! Very strong good looking welds and were very helpful and very experienced. I will be going back to them when I am in need of getting my cross member notched out.

This fellow purchased a 240sx Hatch from me earlier this evening, the weather was nippily so not the best planning on his behalf also him thinking it would fit in the trunk of his jetta was very poor thinking on his behalf with even worse execution. I quickly leaped into action saving the business deal and delivered it to his front door, I hadn't realized a $3 tip was in store which bought my a slurpee, basically he supplied my addiction and I was worse of due to it.
Even though not everything went as it should have for it to have been a smooth transaction his witty remarks and easy to get along with personality help the deal sail into the sunset.
A++ would do business with again.

A fun little place to go into good atomosphere neat little shop that always has a cool project on the go. usually has all the parts used and new im looking for and for a decent price better then ill find anywhere local short of the internet.
I understand fellow members have had worse experiences with him so i guess its a hit and miss whether you go. Been good to me for parts but never had labour done there

I Got my Grand Prix back from Laurie at Provincial today, and i'm impressed, all in all they did a great job in repainting the one side of my car (key scratch repair). and he even fixed my dented up bumper for an extra 175 bucks. Car looks great, and i got it back within a resonable amount of time, even though he did tell me it would most likely be ready monday.

happy with them because they are the only place in the city that wanted to do a wheel alignment on a lowered car on a sunday. the vic one was all booked up that day. everyone else i called was assholes about it being lowered. it was reasonably cheap too, thought it would be more.
