So I find it really fucking stupid that you are forced to have the shift pattern on your shifter, I myself don't have the pattern on mine.

My Shifter
Shift Knobs 90075eb6b6

I don't think I should have to inform a car thief on how to drive my car away when they try.

///M3 argues that it should be there for people who are servicing your vehicle so they know how to drive it but you could simply tell them the shift pattern if it isnt the standard:

1-3-5
2-4-R

What do you guys think about this?

if you are servicing cars you should already know what the pattern is, if not ask, or figure it out for yourself..

Awe, you already expressed my thoughts on the situatoin.
An idea is you could put like a sticker near the boot.
Some cars are like that where htey got the pattern etched into the plastic divider near the boot.

That is a very good point that never even crossed my mind, if your servicing the car you should know the shift pattern lol.

Not everyone knows that VW has reverse to the left and up, as well as even the old chevy chevettes.

But really WHO CARES, ill go without a shift knob never mind pattern.

Just put a sticker on the consol infront or beside the shift boot, good nuff
