| In all fairness, the answer has always been the West Coast. Vancouver is like 2 hours from Evergreen, 3 1/2 from Penticton (Maybe less) and 3 to PGP. I am confident that Spec D is capable of running one or two big competitions. Also, i am certain D day events just got bigger.
XDC may also be an option for those who really want to compete. (not West Coast)

| why not move east if your serious about drifting?? Clearly they know whats up. Not beaking west coast or anything but it just seems events in the east are bigger. | |

I 've talked to people and they say those events aren't what they make them seem. West has more tracks, better weather and better drifting.

| They pull in the crowds though, thats the biggest difference. We had more people out at lumsden than they did at Race City. They didnt market/advertise it nearly enough, I heard that from many Calgarians(lol) when I was there, I guess they didnt get the point you need to spend money to make money..
And they needed some unbiased judges, of course you want the people you party with every weekend to win other than some random kid from Regina... Lots of BS going on there.

| ya dmcc is a joke but it was something... and to adrian i see where your comin from about it being blown outta control... but i planned on buildin my car for pro next year so kinda effected that idea!!! plus im not one to sit around and do demos and drift practice's i actually wanna go somewhere with it eventually.... Ha people have dreams and east is a joke i would rather go broke and do xdc then hit up any east events But west isnt over it will pick up like spec d or whatever... also might be something here sooner then everyone thinks but im not sayin nothing | |

You contradict yourself. If you actually wanted to go somewhere, you wouldnt be so pickychoosey about where you go. Youd be finding a way to make it out to as many events as possible. Look at the gonzo drift guy, he didnt sit around, bitching and moaning that there wasnt any big events local to winnipeg. Its just like any form of motorsports, youve got to make the effort to get to as many events as possible. If theres a big event out in bc, ori n the east, then youve got to get out there and making it happen, and show them how its done. You live in a shitty location for anything but rodeos and shitty country bars.

| I am pretty sure Gonzo wouldn't drive DMCC east either... he was offered and turned it down. Gonzo was actually really smart about the events he ran. His thoughts on DMCC are pretty close to those of Zimm's as far as I can tell. I think it would be cheaper and better to do XDC. | |

| ya marshall i realized i did that but like jhall said its expensive and considering the closest xdc event is like 20ish hrs away thats alot like calgary is roughly 600 - 1 grand to go there after everything and thats only friday to sunday
plus pro am in xdc and all USA there rules are the same as pro here so a cage n all that stuff is required which i didnt have
Hopefully in 2012 i will hit up 1 or more XDC events

| It would be the same amount of time or longer to get to the DMCC East events. It wold probably be easier to find Sponsorship in he U.S as well. Besides, XDC is making a push to go bigger and are running their own pro series next year. Way more opportunity there, DMCC West was great because it was close, but there is no doubt that if you are serious about drifting you have to head south. | |

Hopefully in 2012 i will hit up 1 or more XDC events trust me, im no rookie to how expensive racing is....I did it for 5 years, even then it was more than drifting was. We still had to travel the same distance, if not farther, I mean my friend who races karts is going to italy, and hes from regina. Back then I was doing whatever I could to find more money to go racing. Lack of sponsorship is why I wasnt able to go anywhere when I was 14, so I quit. Thats the way motorsports is, youve either got the money and sponsorship, or you dont, and you dont get to go anywhere. This aint no rec soccor league.
