| Hey guys lets take over this show, it would be great to have as many of us as possible. I will be there and I know some others are as well. That one year where lots of us came it was a lot of fun to see everyone out. | |

| It's a V8 Obviously? 600hp? So about the same as you would get in a Ferrari Enzo? And it has leaf springs? Are you mad!? Now I've driven lots of muscle cars and they all look fantastic, but all Muscle cars are crap. They just are, they don't handle good. They look good, they sound good..... You know when you drive past an air base, and they have an old outdated fighter plane up on a plinth. Some cars are also born to put on plinth. | |

Agreed from a performance aspect muscle cars are crap awful suspension design, awful brake design etc especially when they have rediculous amounts of power. But they never cease to look amazing and soung sexy | |

| It's the Jeremy Clarkson ramble from Love the Beast. That what he tells Eric Bana after he stuffs his Ford Falcon, his first and life long project car, into a tree. But yeah Mostly I agree. Old Muscle cars to me are something to be looked at and admired, but I don't lust to own one. It's not my thing. It was hard for my generation to be that into muscle cars, and so I don't expect you younger guy to like them that much. They are popular because that was the desirable cars from those guys youth. Now they are all 40 and 50 (60's?), financially stable and can restore or purchase nice examples of the cars they loved in their youth.. The fact that all cars from that era had RWD and massive V8 engines is just circumstantial. They weren't fast stock. Expect for the special ones (think of how everybody has a Neon or Calibre, but the SRT4 is the only fast one and you get the idea) A low 15 high 14's would be as fast as the good ones would have went on the tires and suspension of the time. (they are all faster now with modern sticky radial's and aftermarket rear suspension that helps reduce tire hop) So rambling right along, that's not my, and certainly not you guys who are 10 years younger then me case. Muscle cars were always for the collector, old guys who hung on to them, etc. They were never affordable to me or my friends, so never that desirable. I have no good memories of rolling around a buddies old Cuda, or 396 Bel Air as a teenager.. The only "Muscle cars" in my childhood were Camaro's, Trans Am's and Mustangs. And I do like those cars to some degree. They were usually pathetic performers and often beat by a revy lightweight import. (Hence my love of the import cars) And to make matters worse my Generation had only shitty cars to choose from. You guys are some what more lucky, at least your Civics have Vtec and VW's have Turbo's. We had Escort GT's and Civic 1.5's, Golf GTi's with 105hp, the good 16v one made all of 123hp. Nothing made any power, everything had just over 100hp and was built for economy. The late 70''s and 80's V8 cars we could afford and readily buy were total shit. (Malibu's, Nova's, etc) Everything V8 was horribly choked up and made 130hp out of 5.0's or more, they honesty do handle like total shit. The wallow around, giant hard plastic, thin diameter steering wheels, way too much power assist. The Interiors are awful, nothing had a good tactile feel. I think the first time I drove a VW GTI that was really it for me. The leather wrapped steering wheel with it's smaller overall diameter, thicker in your hand, deep bolster seats, it all felt so right. It was apparent the Germans were up to something very different then the Americans. The Mustang 5.0, 5spd was the only thing V8 and good at the time. But will these compact sporty cars ever be as collectible? Not likely, although some might just become show pieces in the future. Cars that were stylized quite different, and more rare even when new stand a chance. Something like the Escort EXP. Or CRX. Japanese Muscle cars will be collectible too, RX7's, 300z, Supra, and it already is. Old Supra's cost a mint now! | |

| Even though it doesn't handle great, and weighs entirely way too much for what it is. I still love my slow and poorly built mustang. Im not even sure why | |
