The first videos were cool because they were raw and focused on driving you don't see every day, now its all about cheesy fucking intro's and ugly fucking clothing. Aaaaand stupid monkey suits that makes me wanna punch the person whos underneath it in the face like im going for a high score on the UFC punching bag machine..

This is what I am talking about. I get where you are coming from but Ken block is a marketing machine. His videos are pretty much commercials and they work. Think of how many people wear the Block gear now compared to two years ago. Nobody, is going to keep spending the money he does just to impress us. And truthfully the market that would find this video unreal, is bigger then the "us" market that would find it less then unreal. So as Cam says "Mass appeal FTW".

DC shoes have been around forever too, and that's his Company no? I'm pretty sure everybody was wearing them before these videos hit? But Monster energy sales definitely shot up!

It isn't his company anymore he sold it a while back. At first he was going to sell it to Quicksilver ( I think) But him and his partner backed out. They later sold it to Billabong (I think) for way more money. Block is still the Brand supervisor, he over sees develpment and stuff like that. So, yes D.C shoes has been around forever but their car inspired gear for Block and Travis P. are pretty new. If you notice the video is staring a hat and jacket in the opening credits.

Fun fact, I am pretty sure he owns that hill in the video posted by Noops, it is in Utah outside park city.

Man that is a great idea! You think Ken Block himself would organize it and invite all of his friends to drive in it. Vaughn could drive a old Rally Escort and Ross Petty could drift the whole track and make horrible time. Meanwhile Dai could destroy the RWD heat..... hhhhhmmmmm but what would they call it? That post I made wasn't wishful thinking that actually happened. You might also like Rally Cross. Like Marshal said people have been doing Gymkhana for a very long time... it just isn't as interesting to watch. Well depends on the person.

its about to fun to watch as auto-x. Much more fun to do, but when you realize its not as smokey tire and slidey slidey as k.block makes it looks, its not that fun to watch.

Ya i know ive seen it on the web lots, im saying id like to see it done in the same skillset and ability that Ken does it in, otherwise yes it would be boring to watch.

But people seem to watch formula D and thats just as boring to watch as nascar, pretty much the same to just a bunch of v8s going round and round.

IMO formula D ruined the "cool" factor of drifting just as people have stated K.Block ruined the cool undergroundness of his first gymkhana videos

But i completely agree with you, most amature events arent fun to watch becasue they dont have the corprate backing. Everytime they go into a corner, a little parts of their mind knows is wondering how they are going ot pay for this if shit goes sideways real quick.
