VW/Audi scanner... VAG-Com? Empty

My little brothers 2002 GTI 1.8T has literally every single light on in the cluster.

I don't think a regular scan tool can pull codes and what not off there ( I may be wrong.) I've been tasked with trying to solve all the problems and I just don't know where to start regarding pulling the codes and trying to figure out what all is fucked on his car.

If anybody knows what I would need it would be much appreciated!

I have a VAG-COM and a Airbag reset tool. But Tomorrow and Thursday are pretty busy for me.

Friday evening/night works pretty good. Well probably late Weds and Thursday I'll be working in the garage too. But later like after 9:00pm

edit: you can use an OBDII Scanner on VW/Audi's to pull and erase codes. (That's like an international vehicle compliance thing) But you can't do any real timing monitoring, or reprogramming with them.
