| One of my parents friends has the car forsale, its got 285000km, needs a fan relay, and an short in the trunk needs to be found, its a nice looking car, no rust, needs some paint work. anyone know how reliable these motors are? and is it worth getting a 7mgte and dropping that bad boy in it over the winter? | |

| Head Gaskets, etc. etc. If you get a 7MGTE, make sure to change those first before dropping the engine in. Also, if its a manual, make sure to ditch that W58 transmission for either an A340E Automatic or an R154 Manual. The W58 has reliability issues just handling the power from the normal 7MGE. | |

| what about the reliablity of a 7mge with 285 000 km, i dont want to drop a bunch of money into the motor over the summer, then swap it out in the winter. | |

| maybe a jz swap, like the 1990 tt supras, not sure if the motor mounts line up, havent researched that swap, but 2jz is out of the question, i cant drop 5g into a motor. i would like to put a 2jz into a 2wd t-100 truck but thats also out of the question because im not loaded, and wont be for along time | |

| The 7mges are good engines besides the headgasket issues. I wouldnt bother with the 7mgte, if your gonna swap go for 1jz | |

| Well, I know of a 1992 BMW 325iS, that the guy swapped a 2JZ motor into with a skyline rear differential. Then the diff siezed on him and I haven't heard from him since. His name is Steve Kozan, but if you see a red BMW with carbon fiber hood on it parked somewhere, thats him. He might be interested in parting it out, or sellthe the whole car? I don't know, just throwing it out there | |

| does anyone know how much the guy at majestics had invested into his supra motor, i was thinking about going that way, just a half cut of a supra turbo, pull the engine and possibly get it built up at that HighPerformanceTech, nothing too crazy, just enough to handle maybe 10-15 pounds of boost. and the pretty chrome valve covers | |

Judging by his turbo and obvious obsession with automotive competition, I wouldn't be surprised if he spent $8-$10k on the block alone. Suppporting mods probably hit the $20-$25k mark. I'm no Supra expert, but power and reability are really expensive when they are the same goal on any vehicle. IMO if you plan on running only 10 to 15 psi, I'd suggest looking into auxiliary injection of some sort as that might be more cost effective. Like I said, I'm no Supra expert, but 10 to 15 psi on any trim Supra engine shouldn't be too bad without beefing up the internals. It would be easier to offer suggestions if you had a hp goal though. | |

| ya, they push 300 stock. im just not able to do that much fabrication work, and not taking it to a shop to get it done, any person can get a shop to do what they want if they have big enough pockets which i do not have | |
