| Ya, 9 years ago, a first or second gen Integra was a half decent car for high school...that is if you weren't spoiled and your parents bought you something ten grand or up. Time were different. And to Adam...you have a good point quoting brnyrd...a majority of this site was in elementary school 9 years ago...lol. First thing I drove was a '94 2-door Sentra with my learners, was my bro's car though. Got my 240 in '05...my first car. This style was just going out around then... | |

| that was my point, i know im only a couple years older than most of u guys, but still live and breathe for automotive. jus cuz u dont like 4 door integras, or hondas, or whatever NOW, doesnt mean 9 years ago it wasnt a good base to start with. and no, my mommy n daddy didnt buy me a car. it was all my hard earned minimum wage that went into it. thats what its all about. anybody can PAY someone to do shit for them, but when its done at the expense of bleeding knuckles, and late nights, thats what makes it YOUR car. | |

| haha man I'm not beaking and never was. I drove a 92 prelude in high school, it was super rad..........lol
and ya, i hated they kids in my school who's parents bought them cars that were cooler than everyone else's. They thought they were king shit! Even now they still drive those cars and think they are cool. I've always bought my car's with my own money.

| Yeah, Golx makes a good point. 9 years ago that was the style indeed if you didn't have 17's you were a fool. That is why Honda style is so confusing to me now. My first car was an MX3 and it was of that time. People wouldn't get back then what people are trying to do now. Even when Golks bought his 240 people thought he was an idiot, they asked him why he just didn't get a prelude. Some Honda guys were confused by the way the motor was mounted, and others thought it was an MX6.
Point being in a few years the style will probably change again and we will all have to adjust or end up being those old guys who don't get the youth of today and long for the old times.

what cars did u guys have 9 years ago? [/quote] 9 years ago I had the exact same white 86 Jetta I'm driving today. Only it had different wheels on it back then. 6 spokes were popular at the time. How about 11 years ago? (front plates, *sigh*) late 90's heavy ass chrome wheels were in style, can you tell? I think this is picture is Crica 1995, but my memory is foggy. I also had this Scirocco 16v for a 3-4 years it was stock with a 2.5" exhaust kelly at minute muffler whipped up for me. The sound was hilarious when you lifted throttle it just spit a storm (PPFFLLLAAAYYYTT) Believe it or not it was faster then a Sunfire GT/Z24 which was a very popular car with the kiddies at the time. Nothing worse then get beat by a clapped out old VW! I think this is all the cars I actually have pictures of..at least that have been scanned into the PC anyways.

| I don't even have a picture (digital or print) of my first car. It was a 1977 Rabbit. It had MPH only on the dash, (by 1978-79 all cars in Canada came in KM/H). It had only a big round speedometer, no tach, with 1 little red dot marked at the the redline in 1st, 2 red dots at the red line in 2nd, etc. it was a 4 speed manual, with wood trim around the dash, and brown on brown interior. I hated the interior so much back then (90's), but nowadays it would be very old school cool. Worst part it had no body rust at all, but I drove it into the ground anyways, because I only paid $200 for it. Moved onto an 83 GTI which, at that time was one of the hottest cars in the playground, and is still pretty culty. That GTI is 1 of 2 cars I can say I honestly wish I had never sold. (the other being my 86 XR4Ti) Edit: Which I do have a picture of. All my first few cars were bone stock other then some stereo stuff, because I had no money to mod them. Ok well I still have no money, just the allowance my wife gives me. "Please sweety can I buy this new part, it's so sick!" "if it's sick why do you want it?" | |
