some of you may know that my dc4 has rear lower subframe tearout... here are some pics of what i pulled off the car today.

here we see what was once an aluminum spacer from the BSQ subframe reinforcement kit... of course you get what you pay for and well i paid 25 bucks. needless to say there is a beaks kit in my posession.

and for comparison, the normal side.

okay so there we have it... running without a rear sway now... but at least the other side wont tear out now. the car feels much less responsive and mushy in the rear when cornering without the ITR sway.... quality is lower because i took the pics with my blackberry 9700... still not bad though haha!

Brother in laws EP3 had subframe tear out, but his was the control arm bolt. You can order a whole new rear subframe from Honda, and Queen City Autobody did the welding work.

Sucks big time, cost him a pretty penny too! pale

I dont even wanna know how much a new subframe would be new from Honda, specially since a single trailing arm is 700 for the EJ.

ive ordered a new one from acura. there are some parts sites that quote retail prices from honda and the subframe piece is supposed to be 250USD. im hoping it will be similar in price. but its backordered until july 26. I ordered an ITR subframe so i can just bolt up the sway to proper mounting holes without jerking around with reinforcement kits. it should weld right up.

im not sure how it happened, but it probably had something to do with autocrossing with that cheap assed reinforcement kit back in like 02 plus several winters and daily driving. oh well. the car doesnt owe me anything.
