now that I am waiting for my ride I will give you a back story. Came out to oil on driveway and hole in oil pan. that is all really. | |

thats an awful idea, if you cant afford a new one at the very least take the pan off clean it extremely well!! and have it welded | |

thats an awful idea, if you cant afford a new one at the very least take the pan off clean it extremely well!! and have it welded it is cracked way worse than expected, i thought it was a small crack on the bottom but it split the whole side open. it isnt the money it is the time, im a busy man!! God knows how long to get a new oil pan, and changing it is going to take awhile. | |

| just found out oil pan removal and install requires moving the engine up 4 inches, getting the freeon taken out(purge the refidgerant or whatever you want to call it) of the air conditioner cause one of the hoses is in the way and has to be removed, subframe removal and a million other things. jb weld would be much easier. | |

| haha. yeah, with a mk3, you basically unbolt it/remove the sealant, put new one on, put on sealant, rebolt it. | |

I just read a story of a guy repairing his oil pan with jb and a whole corner got ripped off. and a guy fixing his transmission casing with jb weld. My car goes to the dealership on thursday for a new pan but I am going to jb weld it tommorow, so I can drive it for the rest of the week. | |

| jb welded the shit out of it. Crack was huge and went all the way around the welds on the bottom. Doesn't leak at all and im driving it now with a jug of 5 dollar engine oil, until it goes into audi which is now next month. | |

ill get pictures tommorow i dont see how you do not believe me i am now driving it, and i didnt get a new oil pan or had mine welded. Taking out the oil pan would probably take me 3 days | |
