| using paint stripper bad? how well does sandblasting work? where could i get this done? what are the forums opinions best way to get old layers of paint off rims?

| Go see the guys at u-blast-it, they have done great work on a couple of sets of wheels for me. He can hook you up with powder coating too! | |

| u blast it i think its called? you get your own booth, and get to use what ever media you want (glass, crushed nuts etc) costed us 21$ to do all 4 rims. (13"). It was super easy and did an amazing job. | |

i called ez blast.... they said it would probably cost me 140 dollars for 4 rims to do it myself? guy was super helpful though | |

| took the rims down to general sandblasting.... bitchy Ukrainian clerk but well see how they turn out haha
(if i like how the rims look just silver can i just leave them or must i clear coat?) the guy seemed to think they would rust but i didnt think they were steel? | |

Regardless, unprotected metal will look terrible. Steel will rust, Aluminum will oxidize, etc. And there is no way that it would cost $140 to do all 4 rims there. Me and Bert did 4 rims on the civic for under $30. | |

| i couldnt sand these wheels with 80 grit, i got no where, 140 to get the paint off is very reasonable. | |

| undecided on getting the rims powder coated or just trying to make paint stick to them..... throw out your idea's on colour! (include pics if you have some) auto electric took a look at the rims and think making paint stick will be difficult and more expensive then powder coating them, so im not sure if im going to spend 20 dollars on some rattle cans and a piece of sandpaper or if i go all out and powder coat. | |

| this color fuck this picture doesnt work and my computer is too gay and slow today for me to actually go back and get the link it was a nice dark blue though also fucking spray paint will stick to anything i painted over clear coated rims that had dirt on them and the black lasted all summer | |
