What!? Not very likely at all, that's a good way to explode an engine. You only spray nitrous when the engine is free to rev. He probably meant he's spraying as soon as he comes off the trans brake. Some people won't even spray that early, they wait until they are 60-100 feet (whatever) out

Also people who say the only spray to spool the turbo at the begining of a run, are lying. If nitrous is on the car, the bottle is warm and your planning to use it, you'll use it the whole pass. Why would you not spray the whole 1/4 mile pass at that point? Nitrous goes in the intake at about -130f (-90c) so even spraying a small shot on a big boost car the whole run (like say a 50hp shot on a 700hp car) will take a ton of intake temp out.
