| My dad just bought a new SC 430 but it only comes with a United States map disk. I was wondering if we could use any map disk or does it have to be specifically a Lexus map disk? | |

| If the car is brand new it will have version 8.1 on the disk, and that CD should north american maps, not just the US maps. If that's the case I would take it back to the stealership and get that sorted out.
Heck even if the car came from the US it will have Canadian roads.

Heck even if the car came from the US it will have Canadian roads. It is a new car but It was bought from the states then brought to Canada to be sold. It has all the US roads and some of the major cities such as Toronto and the main highways for Canada. There is nothing at all for little old Regina. I was more so wondering if any map disk would work, such as a Pioneer or a JVC one?

I have a copy of version 7.1 of the lexus navis but I'm not sure if they are older than the one's from the SC430. I find that very strange that the navigation CD does not have the Canadian maps. I checked the my CD and it shows coverage for all major Canadian cities including Regina. As side note the maps used by lexus is made by one company its just that they get put into a proprietary format for the lexus navigations. I do find that strange that the cd does not have Regina in the maps, as my dad's 05 RX330 has Regina and most smaller towns in Sask, and the car is from the US as well.
