What are you guys listening to in your cars?... sound system wise. .... i just wanna know who's car i gotta break into. no im kidding but seriously, sound specs plz

Kicker speakers, amps, and subs is what I had. Still have the kicker speakers. And a Pioneer Premier head-unit. Sounded great too with the proper eq settings

had twp kicker L 7 12' in my integra with a zx1200sx amp kicker resolution components alpine screen and kicker zx450 4way amp

stock blown speakers

new style Alpine type-s(5 1/4 inch in fron, 6.5 inch in back), Alpine ipod only deck(red display), stinger wiring, completely re-wired to each speaker using thicker guage wire, Pioneer 4 channel 400watt amp(50 watts RPS to each channel) powering the speakers, Kenwood 10 inch sub, sealed box, powered by a 900watt(300watts RMS) Rockford amp. Every interior pannel has been pulled off and stick on sound-deadening applied everywhere, and each speaker is in a sealed "box" type enclosure in their existing location.

2 x .4" subs in plastic enclosures powered by my iPod

2 10' Kicker Pro Comps, JVC Headunit (soon to be changed) 2 Pioneer 6x9's in rear and stock 6 1/2's in the front

This is what I was running, just had it taken out.

Audison SRX 3 Amp
MB Quart RCE-216 6.5 two way components
MB Quart RWE-254 10 sub in a sealed enclosure

Very nice, clean sounding sytem, was very happy with it. More of an audiophile type system. As mentioned, I had just taken this stuff out and am looking to sell it, so if anyone is looking for a high end, clean sounding system, feel free to pm.

my jap battery fucking HATES me.

i had 2 12" l7's in my old car and it would drain my little honda battery after about 30 min of cruising with subs cranked i had to get my altenator beefed up

i try to keep the bass down, never have had battery problems though.

VERY nice setup though.

clarion 8 speaker system with 8" clarion sub. (came stock) she sounds nice for a stock-er

sony xplod head unit (soon to be replaced..hopefully)

two 12" phoenix gold subs (unsure of model / specs) powered by a wal-mart 600w speaker amp lol

everyone is impressed by my ghetto setup, the inexpensive subs/box ($150 @ cashopolis) pounds just as hard, if not harder, than my buddy's 12" type-r's in a specially designed alpine box powered by a 1000w amp

edit: the 5x7's in the back easily overpower the type-s 6x9's in front, if anyone is looking for some amazing speakers at a decent price, I would highly recommend rockford fosgate POWER, not PUNCH

his type-r's are in a 2000 mercury cougar hatch lol

the merk has 5x7 in the front.

Take out those speakers, and wrap them in insulation and sound deadening material. It will make them sound much better.

And the speakers are firing down, hence, not towards the listener, so they are in a shitty location. I hate how all 80's cars were like this:(

But yes, I envy hatchback owners, they have all the fun.

Stock mach 460 system

Cant decide if i wanna ditch the stock 6 cd changer for my alpine.. Its kinda nice not worrying about taking out the faceplate at night.

leave it stock. the stock one probably flows with the rest of the interior. So unless you want something iPod compatible...
And if your speakers aren't already amplified, do that, makes a world of difference

yeah they are amplified stock, however i wouldnt mind upgrading the speakers.


anyone have experience with subs hooked up with a stock headunit??? Just wondering if the sound is as good as it is wired into the speaker wires then converted to rca..

Im still debating putting my sub in, that bastard weighs so damn much

Wow they definately look bigger than 5x7's, but I've yet to take out the dash to take a closer look. As for the location, yeah it's dumb and I'd much rather have speakers in the door panels rather than in the dash facing downwards :\
