| so i just put my new rims on today, they were used for 1000 miles they didnt have any chips scratches or anything on them. Put them on and went for a drive and my buddy behind me noticed the front left one was wobbling so i took it off re tourqed the lugs and it still did it. Then i went to kal tire thinking maybe the balancing was out and they re did it, and it still wobbles...its only doing it like maybe an 1/8 of a inch but its noticible. Any thoughts on what it could be or what i should do? | |

| Wouldn't Kal Tire have noticed it is bent/warped when they did the balancing? Maybe you need hub centric rings? | |

| Hate to say it but i think your problem is Rota
they probably dont go through the strictest quality control and I bet you unfortunately got a bad rim
Oddly enough this happened to me at work today, threw some rims on a Shelby and the rims were a cheap brand and all but one rim was good the one was just effed and would not balance for the life of the tech and it looked wobbly too
you could always take it to regina wheel works and have em take a look

| probably a stupid suggestion, but maybe try switching wheels ie: swap the passenger wheel to the affected one, or vice versa? | |

| Hub rings are like $10-20, doesn't really matter if they polycarbonate or metal. Worth a shot, and you probably should have them anyways. The reason they exist it to stop wobbles, I would start there. But yeah also try switching the wheel to a different location and make sure it's not something wrong with the car. If the car is older make sure the hub mounting surface is clean., maybe spray some WD40 on it & give it a quick wire brush. If your old wheels had previously been on the car for a long time it can leave behind a rust build up where there was voids in the back of that wheel. (usually between the bolt holes) And the new (different) wheel can sit up on those. Not much, but it it only takes a fraction of a mm to make a noticeable wobble at the edge of the wheel. This guy has an bolt on spacer, but you can see how rust can build up between the bolt holes. This car is still new, I've seen heavy thick orange hubs on older cars. Ohh and failing that, I want to say it's Fountain on Henderson, but I could be wrong. Anyways one of the local shops has a Roadforce balancer which can tell you straight away if the wheel is defective. | |

| I'd assume most shops have roadforce balancers, all the new Hunter machines come with it, I mean Chrestview has one and their shop is by no means the best. | |

| Well if they road force balanced ok, then it's not the wheel. They will tell you when a wheel is bent or too far out of true.
Also I think some shops have it, but unless you request it and pay the extra $5 a tire or whatever, they don't do it.

| so i fixed it, went and got hub rings and when i took the wobbling wheel off it was the only 1 out of the 4 with a hub rin already and it was cracked bad, he must have forgotten to take the last one off prior to selling them...so its fixed hoorah. | |
