Fucked up Movies Empty
PostSubject: Fucked up Movies   Fucked up Movies Icon_minitimeOctober 28th 2009, 1:01 pm

Okay so i know the hype recently has been paranormal activity. but im here to up the stakes a little bit. these movies arent necessarily scary... but unbelievably disturbing..some of them i havnt even been able to gather up the nerve to watch.

i will start with the ones i have seen.

Antichrist
tichrist is a 2009 horror film written and directed by Lars von Trier, about a couple who, after the death of their child, retreat to a cabin in the woods where they encounter strange and terrifying occurrences. The film stars only two actors, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Willem Dafoe.Since premiering at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, where Gainsbourg won the festival's award for Best Actress, the film has come under attack for what some critics view as misogyny, as well as for featuring explicit sexual violence. At the same time many critics have also praised the film for its visuals and serious approach.

my thoughts - Well guys. i love willem dafoe. and i was excited to see this movie when i heard that he was doing a film under the radar with a visionary foreign director.. but this movie gave me anxiety.. scary? no. depressing, insane, explicit? yes. In fact there was a certain scene that i couldnt even deal with and had to shut the movie off and watch it the next day after i had recovered from what i saw. only to be fucked up again by a different scene that was equally disturbing. Dont get me wrong. this is a great movie. its brilliantly shot, and makes you think. but the feeling of insanity and the views you acquire on the human condition after watching it may be a lot for people to handle. if you can take it.... watch this movie.

Trailer -

Cannibal Holocaust
Cannibal Holocaust (1980) is a controversial exploitation film directed by Ruggero Deodato from a screenplay by Gianfranco Clerici. Filmed in the Amazon Rainforest, the movie tells the story of four documentarians who journey deep into the jungle to film indigenous tribes. Two months later, after they fail to return, famous anthropologist Harold Monroe travels on a rescue mission to find the group. Eventually, he recovers and views their lost cans of film, which reveal the missing filmmakers' fate.

NOTE: This film was and is still recognized for starting the "snuff" film industry. The original controversy that surrounded the film's release was the belief that Cannibal Holocaust was an actual snuff film, or that the actors were murdered in order to film their deaths for the movie. The film was confiscated ten days after its premiere in Milan, and Deodato was arrested. Although snuff films are things of myth and legend, this film was the first to legitimately stump people and courts of law alike. After the film was made, the director paid the actors to leave the country for 5 years to make it seem like they had actually died in the movie. Deodato's movie was and still is banned in most parts of Europe; including Italy, the UK, and parts of Germany.

my thoughts - Hmm. This movie will definately keep you interested all the way through. There are a couple scenes with animal mutilation and torture that are a bit hard to deal with. These include a monkey getting its face cut off with a machete, a muskrat getting stabbed, a pig getting shot, and more. I knew this was not real before i watched it, so it was a little bit easier to deal with. But the sheer lengths the director went to in order to captivate and dupe his audiences were extraordinary. This movie is superbly graphic.. if you are squeemish.. beware.

So that about wraps up the movies i have been able to bring myself to watch. and im scared to watch any of these. but know people who have.

Martyrs
Martyrs is a French mystery-horror film written and directed by Pascal Laugier. It was first screened during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival at the Marché du Film. The film was released in France publicly on September 3, 2008. Laugier is said to be in the middle of negotiations with Weinstein Company for rights to remake the film in America. As it is now, the film cannot be shown. The story follows a girl named Lucie who was abducted as a child and tortured for 14 months before escaping. 15 years later she seeks the family who abducted her for revenge.

What I have heard - This movie will fuck you up. The explicit violence coupled with the deep plot are said to completely capture anyone watching the movie. Everyone i know who has seen this movie will recommend it, but will not watch it again.

trailer -

Inside (a l'interieur)
nside (À l'intérieur) is a French horror film directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury. Bustillo wrote the film as well. It stars Alysson Paradis and Béatrice Dalle in its two main roles. Both actresses won the Carnet Jove Jury Award at the Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival.

What i have heard - Another incredibly disturbing movie with intense graphic violence and entrancing plot. Apparently the french know how to shoot great horror films. by great i mean impacting and disturbing. All i could find was the French trailer, but it is downloadable and rentable with subtitles.

trailer -

Murder-Set-Pieces
Murder-Set-Pieces is a controversial 2004 sicko-slasher film, written, produced and directed by Nick Palumbo. This American film deals with the activities of a wealthy immigrant serial killer; a German photographer, who leads a double life: by day he shoots erotic photos. By night he rapes, tortures and murders prostitutes.

What i have heard - As the only movie made in America with an NC18 (nobody allowed under 18, even with parental guidance) rating to date, this film apparently does not hold back on explicit content. Not only is it gruesome, but intensely disturbing. More than anything i have heard that the main purpose of the movie is to shock and negatively affect the minds of its audiences. Apparently it does a pretty good job.

If you guys have anything to add to this list then by all means please do. also keep in mind that if you are going to watch these movies then you shouldnt go into it thinking its something like "A Haunting in Conneticut" or "Thirteen Ghosts". These movies are not for the weak of heart.

Also, most of these movies are only rentable in Cut versions due to censorship laws in Canada. You will most likely have to download or order uncut copies of these movies to view them in their entirety. As an example, Murder-Set-Pieces is something like 40 minutes long for the cut version, and has about 45 minutes cut from it.

Lars Von Trier is the reason why Bjork will no longer act... Also he loves that Dogma 95 shit. Just a little food for thought.

Anywho, not a big fan of movies like these... Although, I do like Willem Dafoe. Laugh out loud funny in "The life Aquatic with Steve Zissou"
