September 18,19 Drift Competition

So as we found out last night at the meeting, QCMA isn't going to being around for the drift competition. So both of those things leave Soup with little to no help. So we are in need to see who can help out. And I don't just mean to sweep but I was thinking organize and promote. So if anybody has any ideas it would be to share now so they can be implemented.

I think Ryan is going to have some time off so he can do some running around if need be. Also I ahve just acquired some sponsorship funds. So we have start.

i dont know if i could be any better help then just sweeping but if you need me ill help out

I've agreed to sponsor you guys through Jordan as well. Lemme know what else I can do (door prizes etc), time is tight for me for the next couple of months so I can't physically help.
Decalling will be sorted out in the near future as well.

the more help we get from everyone the better! and the more help we get will mean we can have and awesome event! and put drifting on the map in saskatchewan!

hmm I'll be down in Regina this weekend. If someone made some flyers I'll put them up all over campus up here. Also I'm joining the husky motorsports club here at the U of S. They have built drag cars. a crazy formula 1 inspired car. Maybe I could work on (in the next few years) getting some sort of drift car/team going.

im not a drifter due to situations out of my control but id help a broda up... sweeping is what i see my self doing. if you need advertising i can do that too.... anyone thought of having found raises or something... advertise ad the University is cool too, lots of young kids and stuff.... lets make posters but on the other hand we are coming to and end of season so.....

keep in mind this, depending on how well this event goes will possibly set the standard and tone for next season!

Louis you are on to something with the posters. The fundraiser isn't as much of a problem at this point. In the future it might be. The University stuff is great we just need a poster. Anybody want to take a crack at one? Jesse.... looking in your anime loving direction. Other people are welcom to take up this task as well.

Scott can we count on you to be out there taking pictures?

I'll make photocopies and run stuff around as that is my chosen career.

both previous posts sound good, posters and website sounds lke a terrific idea....
They took away my sunday event so im sad and dont want this fun to go away....

This is a good idea. Promote it, get some hype going, then come spring time advertising the shit out of the first event might draw a lot of people. Provided the first one goes well they will go tell their friends and next season has the chance to rock.

exactly what I was thinking!! People will be bouncing with excitement

yeah we discussed the posters, ill have them done tomorrow i was thinking we should make two posters, one to advertise "DRIFTERS WANTED!!!" for the upcoming practice (we need to make money on that and some people wont come cuz its close to the comp) and then another advertising coming to watch the competition, the drifters wanted one will be mostly about DODOlogic and participating and the other will be about the comp and what it involves.
and i might be able to make shirts for the people entering the competition and then the top three peoples shirts i can put "1st 2nd 3rd" on after in vinyl, i need to know sizes of people is the problem tho... so probably not enough time or info for that. ill finish posters asap imma rasterize one 6 feet tall

the shirts have to be muscle shirts! lol we discussed this

Hey I'm back in Regina now, so if anyone wants to pass some responsibility along I'm here. I'm also a bum as of right now only picking up temp shifts so I have a lot of free time.

Another good place to put posters is maybe around wascana?

Maybe, someone should looking into asking a radio station if they want to do an "on-location" deal. Thats lots of free air-time for them to play up the event. Maybe notify Global or CTV of the event. See if they would be interested in doing a 5-10 minute interview or clip?

thats major publicity for next year.

Janelles brother is Ryan Pilon of CTV news ( i think its ctv)... anyways, you should hit that up and get somthing there.

i think getting ctv out there would be a great idea!!!
