You dont know me but I'm taking a stab in the dark and assume you belong to this forum. Im writting this to anyone who has delt, talked or ever seen this high school Musical want to be! Me and my frends have delt with him and have nothing to say but horrible story's. Im sure you guy's know better than I do but I'll post something from my forum here to share with you...

Trying to part off engines that dont work, and engines that "worked before you sold it" AKA DONT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS GUY!!!

First and foremost, welcome to QCA. Second, It is not that I would never buy anything from Mr. JYB because I have but you see we make decisions based on his past history and knowing. If you spend sometime searching you'll see where you made a wrong turn. In fact the complete history of your engine is probably documented on this forum.

Before this starts to get out of had... because it will. I well say that the gas tank I bought off JYB seems to be ok. I mean it hand a dent but it was like 50 bones and rust free.

P.S. To the O.P. Brian Spillner sounds like a serial killer, is that what you are?

Ok... There isn't much we can do for him. Everyone here knows Bod and his history with that car. Yes I am sure he has everyones sympathy, as I do feel awful. If we had a time machine we could go back and time and tell him not buy it but we can't do that. I don't think this guy is going to get any money back because Bod needs it to buy a car.

The thing is I completely feel for this guy but I don't want to sit here and bash bod for 8 pages. If I didn't know the guy who sold the bunk motor then maybe I would. So I say this hoping Bod takes it with no offense. Bod probably didn't know the motor was bunk, it was barely in the car. He is young, inexperienced and has had bad luck with engine swaps, and it is a big job. So Bod probably thought the motor should have started because he doesn't know any better.

Secondly, if the OP wouldn't have driven 6 hours to buy this engine he probably would not have left that garage with that engine. I mean how many here would buy a used turbo engine from a high school student. Especially when there is a blown one in the corner.

Both OP and Bod are victims of circumstance. Cam if it were you in the same situation you wouldn't want me to run your name through the mud, so I won't do it to Bod either. Yes we all poke fun at each other but this is a tad more serious and I don't think bod wants his peers attacking him. So instead it would seem that people are making light of the situation.

If Bod decides to do something for this guy then good on him but I don't think Bod's business dealings are any of our business.

but in all seriousness. the motor ran. ive drained the oil and found no metel shavings.also did a compression test before it was posted up for sale. and ryan i thank you very much. but ive offered to help "rob" but nothing i offer him is good enough. i offered to pay the labour of the costs which is roughly around 500 but i guess thats still not good enough.

I can vouch for the engine being solid and in proper running order before it was taken out. Saw it run many times including the day before it was removed from his car.

hes also had the engine for over a month. alot can happen in a month

mr. spilner...... you need to learn the value of buyer beware......if what bod says is true that you had it for a month(s) you yourself could have blown that engine and am now trying to get it back to where bod feels guilty for selling you a "bunk" engine, which i doubt would/will happen. coming on here saying that he sold you a shitty engine isn't gonna get you any further than you already are, you bought the engine, so you just got yourself a 2300.00 dollar paperweight sir enjoy

Yes, We would all like yo be able to trust one another when doing internet buisness, but the internet is serious business, and it allows people to do shady things.
I think the motor was in the car for all of 1 day before something went wrong. I don't know the circumstances, but thats the story i heard. Most people wouldn't buy a car, sight unseen, over the internet, I would have a hard time buying a used turbo motor over the internet. Whenever I have seen a used motor, or even a rebuilt motor for sale on different forums, people ALWAYS ask to see video/sound clips of it running, as well as it hooked up to vacuum guages, and oil pressure gauges. No once forced you to buy this motor.
I'm sorry to hear about what happened, and I agree, $500 was not enough, but for all we know, it could have been a dented oil pan, problems in shipping, or someone else's fuck-up, there are many circumstances.
Once again, I'm sorry to hear what you have gone through, $2300 is ALOT to spend for a paper weight.
But, like ebay, I tihnk what you are doing is the right thing to do, negative feedback, if the seller won't help you out. Make it impossible for him to seel other things on the internet or whatever. We all make mistakes, and the problem is, some of them are stupidly expensive. If you would like to take this further, I think you should take it to small claims court, or to your local law enforcement and see what they car do? Truth betold, he doesn't "have" to do anything, you bought the motor, its your problem now sort of deal, but he offered to.
I don't know ANY of the circumstances, so I'm not even going to comment.

so good news he just pmed me and everything is working fine now lol
