| My car has 100,000 k on it and is 8 years old. I installed a k and n high performance intake on it and in december and january and now my engine light has came on if I have "bagged hard" for a while. They did a diagnosis and it was determined that it were my o2 sensors. I have been getting poor mileage.. about 16L/100km which i think is like 12mpg. I don't know if the cold outside has anything to do with the filter and the o2 sensors or if it is just the o2sensors themselves. How often should you replace o2 sensors? | |

| I thought maybe it was because the k and n is such a more drastic setup that way more air gets in the enclosure because its out in the open now and not in a box so its more open. Or if its that the cold air is indeed getting too much "cold air" and it's overloading the o2 sensors. and how often should you be cleaning your intake filter? | |

| Its like any other part, they can last a year, or ten. But I think its every 100,000?
Id just replace since they arent all that expensive and would definetly explain your shitty gas milage
You clean your filter when it gets dirty, but it shouldnt be that dirty already, and I wouldnt think that it would throw a code, especially an o2 sensor code. Just replace the sensor. And if all you have is a short ram intake your probably actually getting warmer air than the stock airbox lol, it just sounds louder

| I doubt that your O2 sensor has gone bad because of your intake. It was probably on its way out before hand.
O2 sensors are on the exaust side of things so an Intake probably really wouldn't have much to do with it. Jason (PlayboyZ28) could probably have something more expert to say on the situation. | |

| I had the code reset because of this. In the gms u get a number and then u look it up and this said o2 sensor. It doesn't make sense why the only time the o2 sensor fucks up is when I bag which is when massive air flow is being sucked in. I agree i should buy new ones for fuel economy as they are probably shit but I think it could be my intake setup. | |

| My car runs rich when it's cold out. don't ask. it just does, it's either that or an O2 but will find out with it warms up. | |

| It probably runs either rich or lean when you punch it and thats why its throwing a code, the sensor might be really slow at adjusting to different levels or w/e

| My 240 runs rich when it is cold out too. It is what cars do. The problem with running rich is that carbon can build up on stuff like your O2 sensor and cause it to read incorrectly etc. | |
